WDYT of Olivia?

My sons names are Lucas (Luke) and Samuel (Sam).. please give your honest opinion of Olivia (we'd prob call her "Liv").. for MN I am considering Olivia Kathryn (my mom's name is Kathryn) but also open to MN suggestions.. thanks!!

When I say I think a name is too popular, take it with a grain of salt.  I consider anything in the top 150 too common.  Top 100 I won't even consider.  JMHO.

Beautiful. I think that it is becoming more popular for babies rather recently, so she may grow up with some girls of the same name.

In May they will release the top baby names of the year and you can see where it is on there.   For 2007 Olivia was #7 (which is above Abigail, which really surprises me).  So it's very much in the top 10 and very, very popular.  I have at least two H.S. friends that I know of who named their daughter's that.  So while I only knew one or two growing up, there are going to be a lot more around her age.  BUT, doesn't mean it's not a great name!  I like Olivia Kathryn a lot, and since you plan to call her Liv that could help separate her out from any Olivia's in her classroom growing up.

I like it! It is actually the name DH and I have settled one, middle name and all, expect we are spelling it Catherine (also after my mom) ~ so of course I love it, and it really goes well with your son's name.....but it also becoming more and more common, I work in a school and I know of at least 3 Olivia's in the school.
