NPR-need thoughts-pet related

My cat has been "sick" for a couple months now.  She has been peeing blood, but i'm not sure for how long, DH has been scooping the litter box and doesn't "examine" it as he says.  I had my cat to the vet middle of march because of the blood in her urine, she had crystals in her urine and a bladder/urinary tract infection...she was put on antibiotics for 2 weeks, they didn't work, so the vet changed antibiotics for another 2 weeks, but this time she started puking at least twice a day, but she wasn't puking her food, she's actually barely been eating.  i had her to the vet again last night and they took an x-ray to find out she has kidney stones and bladder stones :-/  they say it's much more in depth then the normal bacterial infection and being the antibiotics haven't worked they would need to run blood work (lots of $$) to find out how damaged her kidney's are and if they will be able to treat her-which they don't think they can, they said the most they might be able to do is keep her on IV fluids and hope the stones break up and pass.  So most likely she would have to go to a specialist and we would kind of have to hope for the best.  I just don't know what to do, we don't have the money right now to do what it takes to try and make her better, but we dont know how bad she's suffering without getting the bloodwork done.  I did allow them to do the x-ray last night, which was a nice penny, but I had to find out something, otherwise they couldn't of done anything at all to try and help her.   I just don't know what to do, i love my cat, but with this economy I don't have the extra money to seek the kind of help she'll need.  DH thinks maybe it's time we let her rest with her sister, but i can't bare to think waking up with her not at my feet.

I am so sorry about your cat.  I had to put mine down when DS1 was only 12 days old and it was so hard.  He had lung disease, and we tried everything to help including pills but he just kept getting worse.  It was so hard.
