full-figure nursing bras

this is for all your extra-large-breasted mommies. i'm the first kid in the family to get pregnant - so while i had always hoped i could ask one of my sisters this, they have absolutely no idea.

before i got pregnant, i was a DD... now i'm a DDD - F... but I've still got three and a half months to go, and they're only going to get bigger after delivering. (aahhh!!!!)

i went to motherhood maternity, and she said some of their stores might have nursing bras that large, but not all. alas, i don't know where i can find a good, supportive nursing bra. i'm getting married two months after the birth, so i need to find atleast one heavy duty hardcore nursing bra. (so fun..)

any advice on where to look?

Re: full-figure nursing bras

  • I was a large C small D pre pregnancy and now am growing out of DD.  I just set up an apt at a custom bra shop.  The price for good nursing bras at several stores I have gone into are ridiculous... Custom bras are less than pre-fab bras and better quality.  (Ranging from 40-60)  Also, the sport bras at lululemon.com are a lifesaver too.

  • Hey there i am a DDD and full figure.  I went to a motherhood, but i called to find out if they carried full figure stuff.  they had good bras.  I would try them.

  • YES! I was a 34DDD before getting pregnant and had a hard time finding a good, supportive bra when they started to get larger.  This has been my experience:

I've ordered two Bravado bras online; the Extreme Nursing Bra and the Original Nursing Bra.  I didn't like the Extreme b/c I felt like it made my breasts look like cones.  I LOVE the original nursing bra (I got a M++) but it's not for wearing outside of the house.  It's a very comfy bra for lounging around the house and even for sleeping.

Then I went to Dillard's to see what they had.  Pre-preg, I wore a Wacoal bra that I adored and was surprised to find out they have styles that go up to a size G.  I got one and I love it.  It's starting to get a little tight, but for now, it's working.

Last, but not least, I ordered two bras from www.figleaves.com from the Anita line and I've been really happy with them.  They are made in Germany and I feel very comfortable in them.  You can also look at them at: https://anita.com/de-en/Products,Anita_maternity,Breastfeeding,Nursing_bras

    I hope this helps!!
