2nd Trimester

'I didn't know I was pregnant'

Did anyone watch 2 hours of this crap on TLC last night?!  I had dreams about delivering my baby in a McDonalds and in a toliet last night because of this horrible program (that I couldn't turn off!).  I know every pregnancy is different but sheesh... what kind of idiot as* clown goes 8 or 9 months then delivers without ANY clue they are pregnant!?

  • Nope... Sorry you won't ever get those two hours of your life back
  • I've watched these too and still find it hard to believe.  I mean how could you not feel a 5 lb baby moving around inside you?!!!! I'm still intrigued by it and shamefully would probably watch again.

  • I turned it off after the first two. I went to target instead.
  • I TiVo'd it, so I'm watching it now.  It's absolutely crazy.

I watched the first half hour and then couldn't take any more. I thought it was so dumb!

The woman gained 35lbs, no period, was tired, moody, movement/kicks in her stomach...ALL of her symptoms were there and she just assumed that she has PCOS so she can't be pregnant and thought she was constipated instead? Tongue Tied

  • I caught part of that a couple weeks ago, it was crazy!  After listening to these stories you see how they didn't know they were pregnant, but what a different experience than what I'm going through.  I officially look like I'm smuggling watermelons already, and the one girl looked like a bikini model at this point...

  • It's waiting for me on TiVo.  The concept of someone not knowing they're pregnant absolutely baffles me.  Like on 90210 when Adrianna doesn't find out she's pregnant until 2nd tri--- in what world is this possible?  I was alternating between watching that episode, having M/S and yelling bullsh!t.

There are a lot of things that would make your pg symptoms either not present or easily explained as other things. Some people simply don't get big, are used to big weight changes, don't feel the baby move much, etc.

  • oh sweet jesus....i thought i might have been the only one stupid enough to watch this. ?i didn't want to watch it. ?i was flipping through the channels and heard something about an enema and that was that....

and based on the nightmares that i had last night as a result of watching, i am banning that show for the rest of my pregnancy. ?damn you, tlc!

  • I watched it, it was unreal. I loved the girl who realized she was having a baby but kept standing so the baby fell onto the dirty concrete floor...umm try layign down or catchign or soemthing.

I have seen a few people come in to the hospital in labour not knowing they were pregnant. Most of them are very overweight, or drug users.

  • I know someone who didnt know until she was 8 months...she thought she was infertile and had horrible GI problems (so her belly was always bloated and she always had gas pains)

  • haha I feel like this has been talked about on every board today!

The show wears me out- it's crazy to think about. However, I do know that it is possible (or close to possible).

But I could be biased- one of my best friends lost weight, never was sick, still had her period and then one month she thought she might be pg (missed a period), took a test (it was +) and went to the Dr.

The Dr. then told her she was 7 1/2 months pregnant. Can you imagine? Thinking you were 8 weeks or so, but you're actually like 30-something weeks? It was crazy.

ETA: She never felt any fetal movement- NUTSO!

  • The best one was the blonde lady with the glasses who had hers in the toilet. She thought she was constipated, and she is on the toilet yelling about the pain, and she feels like she has to push. She says, my husband was yelling back "Just push it out honey," then she discovered a baby.

I guess the funniest part was that she thought she was pooping, and her and her hubby were yelling back and forth about the size of the turd.

OMG... thank you so much for being stupid with me:)  I thought several times about the hell I might catch for watching it before posting but I'm still disturbed today so I decided that maybe somebody else had nightmares too and could relate!
