Whats your honest opinion?

My husband seems to think that the slogan Save the Tata's is a little risque for my Rely for Life team to wear or put on canvas totes. I think its cute and not crude but a different way to spend  breast cancer awareness.

Do you think its over the top or just fine?

Re: Whats your honest opinion?

  • DH doesn't know what he's talking about.

    Love Save the Tata's!!!

  • I think it's cute and not crude at all. However, there is no reason for a possessive apostrophe. It should read "Save the Tatas".
  • I think it's just fine. I mean, if you're distributing these totes to the local church ladies or nursing home, eh, maybe I'd reconsider. But otherwise I don't think it's crude at all.

  • I like it.  I've seen it on cars and such.  I think its a nice cute way to spread breast cancer awareness, and catchier so more people will pay attention to it.

  • I think it's fine.  My grandmother saw this on a shirt a couple of weeks ago and she giggled.  So, it's grandma approved Yes
  • Personally love it!

I've always loved "save second base" too. We did t-shirts with that on it when my second grandmother was diganosed with breast cancer because she was a baseball mom her whole life.

  • I think it is really cute! ?If I were being really nit-picky, I would say the only thing wrong might be if some kid saw you carrying the bag and asked their mom/dad what "tatas" are... but its not a swear word or anything.
  • I think it is not crude at all. ?It is a common saying and how could anyone object to it? ?Men just don't get it.

  • I saw women have it on their shirts at a walk I did last summer. It's cute!

    ditto

  • I have people with Save the Tata shirts and was not the least bit offended. Tell DH you won't make him carry one of the bags!
  • I think it's totally fine. I have a male friend who wears a bracelet to work everyday that says "Boobies Make Me Smile" (in support of breast cancer research. I forget where he got it). If he can wear that, then you can wear a Save The Tatas shirt! Wink
  • I think its perfectly fine. I have seen ones that say "Squish a Boob, Save a Life" or "Feel Your Boobs" and I personally think yours in much better.

    Save the Tatas!

I was coming to say the exact same thing.

  • Tell him not to be such a prude :)  I think it's catchy and cute!

  • I think it's perfectly fine.

I ran a marathon for Team in Traning (beneifts the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society) and some of the people wore gear that said "F*ck Cancer"  (only the word was written out - no *). I hated that.

  • i think its a fun way to spread the word
  • I saw a bunch of those too and I understand the sentiment but maybe not appropriate on a shirt!

Overall I think I will approach the team with the Save the Tatas theme and see where we go with that! Thanks a lot girls I feel more confident going into my team meeting tomorrow!

  • I think it is totally fine and really actually kind of a cute saying.
  • I think it's great you are doing the relay for life - I have many friends who have been on teams, and I know several people in fact who have used the term "Save the tatas."

To be honest (and I am not at all conservative with these sorts of things - I am usually not bothered by the terms that other people on this board are bothered by), I think the term is pretty silly. ?While the walk is all about the future, staying positive and improving the health of individuals/survivors of breast cancer, "save the tatas" seems pretty crass and out of touch - the sort of thing a 15 year old would post as a status message on facebook.

But I know a lot of people would not agree with me, and clearly its a popular expression for these walks. ?This is just my opinion :)

Best of luck to you and your team!?
