So I've been dealing with a horrible cold/sinus issues for a few days. I bought some Claritin D over the weekend and only took one because luckily fellow bumpies advised me it wasn't the same as Claritin so I only took one pill. Today I speak to my doctor and she tells me to go buy Sudafed instead. It is also like Claritin D where you have to swipe your drivers license and the pharmacy keeps track of how much you buy. Well due to my sinus my eyes were watering non-stop and my eyes were super blood shot. The pharmacist didn't want to sell me the drugs! Apparently she thought I was going to make meth out of the drugs (I freakin' wish at this point!) So I finally convince her I'm just really sick and she sells it to me.
I finally get to work--I'm a social worker for homeless people at a shelter. I find them perm. housing and case manage them. Last Friday I moved a man into his first apartment and I'm not going to lie--he was super nasty. As in dirty. He has mental health issues which are coming into play here but basically he doesn't clean himself, his clothes (all of which were in black garbage bags) stunk, etc. Pretty common in my line of work. So today I get out of my car and grab my files from the back seat--then I notice that my bag of sunflower seeds I put in there (UNOPENED) two days before were opened. I just assumed DH opened them. When I speak to DH on the phone later he states he didn't do it--I immediately went out to my car, picked up the bag and saw the teeth marks which had chewed through the bag and ate all the sunflower seeds and left the shells! Yep, my client had mice in his bags and one (or God forbid...more) are left in my CAR. I began to panic big time because I spend so much time in my car driving to each clients home. I seriously became physically ill thinking about it. My boss checked the car out from top to bottom and didn't find the mouse (or mice) but it could have been anywhere. Due to rain all the car detailing places are closed (I wanted to take it in to be detailed, steam cleaned, the works. I did buy some traps and set those up--but needless to say I'm not going to be driving on Wednesday.
Grrr sorry for such a long vent--I am just so grossed out by it all.
Vent Over!
Re: I should have stayed in bed (VENT)
Yeah my co-workers thought it was the funniest thing they had ever heard. We had a staff meeting today and my boss announced that I'm such a caring person I'm now making sure even mice don't go homeless. lol
All I can think to do is set traps (which are in my back seat floorboards) and then have my car power washed underneath (we found a nest next to my engine) and the inside cleaned out. Hopefully that will take car of my little situation.
I bet it's living in your seats ~ gross!!
God bless you for the work you're doing. There's no way I could deal with mice in my car!
