Right now she's in a toddler bed (her crib converted). We've already purchased her next bed, which is currently in the guest room. I wanted something that would carry her through until she moved out of the house - not babyish at all and also durable. I chose lighter wood for her room.

We got dd's from a local furniture store. We got white- my personal favorite for a girl's room. Our only stipulation was that it is solid hardwood- to last her until she moves out of the house. We got a twin size. That way there's still lots of space in her room. Lots of people buy their kids full size beds which I don't understand- unless you need it for a guest bed or have massive bedrooms. We did get her a trundle for some extra sleeping space.
dd is in the full that was our guest bed... it was my old bed.. and my moms for that matter. we're looking around for ds now. cannot decide if he'll get a full or a twin with a trundle. We live away from family so any extra sleeping space is great... the kids can bunk while people stay in one of their rooms. We also have a futon for guests.. but we have a lot of family.
i really wanted a nice well made bed that would last awhile for a good price. we bought a full size in an antiqued light light light pinkish color. i wish i could sleep in her bed!
mila belle 3.26.07 and isla leighton 5.12.09
mila belle aka mimi and belle and miss isla aka ileigh : )
Our granddaughter's new furniture has been ordered, but hasn't arrived. It is Stanley, the Young America Collection "MaMarie", in black. Her bed is the panel bed, the pieces look vintage and are gorgeous!
Her nursery was Dutailier, "William" in expresso, so the change will be good.
Re: Where did you get your "big kid bed"?
