Sigh - I had such hopes of passing, but with PCOS and a diabetic father I think I was kidding myself by thinking it would turn out well. My doctor said the cutoff was 140mg and I came in at 157mg. I wanted to put this into context, and so I found this chart online which shows based on your 1 hour results, how many women ended up having GD with numbers in that range:
One-Hour Screening Result | Percentage of Women Diagnosed With GD |
140-145 mg/dl | 18% had gd |
146-150 mg/dl | 20% had gd |
151-155 mg/dl | 30.5% had gd |
156-160 mg/dl | 34% had gd |
161-165 mg/dl | 34.4% had gd |
166-170 mg/dl | 29% had gd |
171-175 mg/dl | 45% had gd |
176-180 mg/dl | 55% had gd |
181-185 mg/dl | 41% had gd |
186-190 mg/dl | 67% had gd |
191-195 mg/dl | 67% had gd |
196-200 mg/dl | 64% had gd |
201-225 mg/dl | 85% had gd |
226+ mg/dl | 100% had gd |
Looks like (according to this research) I have a 34% chance of having GD - so there is still hope!
Re: I Failed my 1 Hour Glucose Test! :(
Yikes, good luck!
Did they tell you that day, or when did you find out?
a lot of women fail the 1hr and pass the 3hr...
good luck!
im sorry babe! im pretty sure youll kill the three hour test no problem..
::good luck dust::
I had the test yesterday morning and was told I would not find out until Wednesday afternoon but I just got a call a few minutes ago.
I have heard this a lot too. GL!!!
Try to stay positive, you might not have it at all and if you do the diet is manageable.
Good Luck!
i think i was in the 140 range w/ DS and ended up failing the 3hr too. so i had GD. i'm losing hope that i'll pass the 1hr this time since i've been testing an hour after i eat and i'm in the 140's again. ugh.
GL!
