2nd Trimester

Fetal Movements

Hey there. I know this was sorta asked down below, but I am 25 weeks and the baby has really slowed down her movements. She was pretty consistent and kicking like crazy for a few weeks. For the past week or so shes only moved like once or twice a day (just to know shes still there) At the doctor today he said I didn't need to worry until 28 weeks and her heartrate was fine. My question is...has anyone had the same problem? Or got past 28 weeks and still felt a lack in movement? Can an inactive baby be a sign of something?

I know its typical not to feel her everyday, but at this point I thought it would be more consistent! Guess I am just looking for some experiences. It was so comforting to feel her kick!

Thanks!

Re: Fetal Movements

  • That's weird. My OB just told me last week that I need to start feeling him regularly. If I don't feel him for a long period of time, to lay on my back, and I should feel him at least 6 times within an hour. If I dont, I was told to call him.

    Is every OB different?

  • I am 26 weeks, and yesterday I went to the doctor because I was experiencing the same thing (decrease in movement - although I was still feeling her at least a few times everyday) and everything turned out just fine! My doctor told me that since they've still got plenty of room in there, they can move all over and depending on their position you can feel lots or little movement. My doctor told me that as long as you're feeling her a few times per day you're good!! If you have days where you don't feel the baby at all, I'd call your doctor just to make sure. Good luck :)
