Head to Toe Rocking?

What exactly is this?  We're dealing with what we suspect is colic on top of all the other digestive issues and an infant specialist suggested head to toe rocking in an email to me.  I've googled, but haven't been very successful.

I feel stupid even asking.   It's probably so simple!
