Tonight is one of those nights when Zachary has had literally one bite of chicken for dinner. He's just refusing to eat. What do you do when your DC does this? Do you try to find something that they'll eat? Or do you just let it go?
I usually just let it go. You can't force them if they just won't. Our pedi says that at this age, they will generally eat one good meal a day, and thats okay. And she also said that a serving size at this age is about a tablespoonful, so they're probably actually eating a lot more than we think. I know its still hard though. It does bother me when he refuses to eat and I always try to give him meals with different servings of different things so that he will usually eat at least a little.?
I know exactly what you are going through. My daughter is 19 months old and will not eat dinner with us. She instead waits until 2 hours later and says she hungry while dragging me into the kitchen. Sorry i know this doesnt help, just wanted to let you know your not alone.

Re: WDYD on nights when DC won't eat?
I usually offer her one of her favorites -- fruit, tofu, or cheese -- and if she refuses those, then I let it go.
Same with us, our meals get progressively worse as the day goes on, so if we get some food in at dinner it is a success.
Ditto these exactly.
