I'm going to ask my LC about this tuesday but want to hear your experience/thoughts.
I pump after feedings 3 times during the day, starting in the mornings and ending in late afternoon. Trying to mock work hours since I go back first week of May. LC recommended this many pumps to build up my stash and keep up my milk supply.
Starting around 3 am and throughout the morning feeding sessions, BEFORE i pump, I spray all over the place. i feel like good BM is going down the drain right onto a burp cloth. It's saturated and if DS doesn't get a good latchright away he gets it all over the face. At that point I'm rock hard and uncomfortable.
For relief I have to pump after the feeding when we get up for the day, usually around 8.
I want to try to hold this pumping session off until 10 (which is when I'll pump at work) because I don't want to have to pump here at home in the morning before I leave.
Any advice on how to alter this schedule? (not the baby's feeding schedule-that's on demand, but my BODY's schedule.) Is this an overactive letdown and if so what can be done about it?
For reference I can get 10-11 ounces in that first pump, but my 2nd and 3rd pumps of the day only get about 2-4 ounces.
