Car seat safety check

I just wanted to make sure that everyone knows that they can have their car seat installed (or checked after it is installed) for free.  Not sure where else in the area that it can be done, but if you call 531- 7233 (it's affiliated with Hershey Med), you can make an appt to get it done at Lower Paxton Police Dept.  My husband's a smart guy but our car seat base wasn't exactly right, and they were able to give me lots of helpful tips about the seat that I didn't know.  I thought that we could have the car seat checked at Hbg hospital when we were discharged, but they recently cut the program.  So it's well worth making an appt so you don't have to install the seat yourself!

Thanks for posting this.  I've been looking for a place to get it done as I'm not positive that my dh put ours in correctly either and I live in Lower Paxon Twp.

I had mine checked by the State Police on Elmerton Avenue in Harrisburg.  The officer that checked ours was very very thorough and helpful!  You can just call the State Police office and they will direct you to the appropriate officer to set up an appt.

On the West shore you can go to the American Trauma Society, it's right off of 114 near 81.  I'm glad I went, it was very helpful !

Most local police stations do it. We had ours installed in Upper Allen Twp. and I know Lower Allen does it too. Install them or check them, either way. My mom had hers installed in by Carroll Township in Dillsburg.

We called and had ours installed at the Saturn dealership in Harrisburg. I'm so glad we went. The technicians were really helpful. I learned so much!

We got ours done with the people threw Hershey. The woman said it looked great. When we had it looked at when we checked out at harrisburg they said it was all wrong and had to redo the straps in our carseat and put the base down tighter. I really wish they hadn't cut that program.
