My mom had a beagle from her college days til I was 7 (so about 15 years).  She taught her the phrase "gross dogs lick," so whenever the dog tried to lick someone mom would say, "gross dogs lick," and the dog would immediately stop.  It was really cute and also very appreciated by anti-dog-lick friends and family.

Your posts just made me think of that.  Carry on.

Okay now I'm feeling a little self concious about this....

hmmmm I always wanted a beagle,  maybe this will convince H that that needs to be our next dog

Aww!  That's cute!

Jonah stops when I tell him to stop most of the time.  And I can tell when he's trying to kiss up to me or apologize, so I allow that (and wash my hands as quickly as possible).
