3rd Trimester

Nutritionists need to make up their minds!

A couple years ago DH and I started to really look at what we were eating and change it to be healthy.  We did allergy tests and found he can pretty much eat anything and I have lots of restrictions - milk, eggs, have to limit the wheat intake blah blah blah....

So I like a good girl, chose to drink Soy milk.  They were touting the health benefits of it.  We started steaming veggies and really started to feel better.

Now I see you should limit your Soy intake to 2 times a week and steaming veggies can cause them to lose too many nutrients but you shouldn't eat them raw either???? WTH  Microwave them is what they said which opens a whole other can of worms too.....but nevermind that for now.

I am trying to be good but they keep changing their minds.  Pretty soon they are going to say, just don't eat!  Irritating!

  • Do what I do- pond water and tree bark. natural and high in fiber. Yum!

    Good morning, dear Smile

  • Loading the player...
  • I knew that about soy milk but still drink it, the veggie thing is new...either way you are doing better than most! The issue is Soy is in everything we eat so our bodies get a ton and it messes with hormones yadda, yadda...

Eat clean and you will be fine!

  • Honestly, they change they're minds all the time.  There are new "diets" out there which change all the time too...

I say everything can be done in moderation, along with exercise at least 30 min. a day, you should be fine.

Just look at the nutrition triangle as a kid.  Seems as though thats been around since I was at least 8.

Funny you mention this. It had been around forever, but this, too, was changed recently. They decided it was no longer accurate for what we should take in daily.

They redesigned it now. I haven't seen the new one, but it's something like a web now.
