trace amounts of protein in urine?

what does having trace amounts of protein in urine mean? My doc didnt even mention it to me i just happened to ask.. he isnt concerned at all.. anyone have this and what did it mean?

trace amounts are normal in pregnant women.. but since protein can mean pre-e, they do monitor it closely. its when the results are +1 or +2 that they worry.

I think later in pregnancy its common to have trace amounts of protein in your urine.  I remember with my first pregnancy they mentioned I had a trace amount around 32 weeks.
