Hi,
I'm in Cocoa, Florida on the Central East Coast. Is anyone in my area? I'm 7 weeks pregnant with our first baby. We tried for 2.5 years, and are totally thrilled to be pregnant! I would love to find some other Moms in my area. It would be great to get to know people and maybe even have a playgroup ready to go when the little ones arrive! Although, I lived in Tampa for 10 years and went to school at USF. Thanks!
Jessica
Re: East Coast of Central Florida anyone?
Hey Jessica,
My name is Nicole and my husband, 9 month old baby girl and I will be moving back to the Cocoa area in August/early September. We currently live in Virginia because he was in the military but now is finally out...yay! I lived in the Melbourne area since highschool and went to Florida State University so I miss Florida sooo much.Im also looking to find moms in the area when we get down there. How are you liking the east coast? Congrats on the pregnancy!!! How are you feeling?
Nicole
Hi Nicole,
My husband and I actually both grew up in Merritt Island. He joined the military and traveled around, and I went to school at USF in Tampa. I lived there for ten years, but after we got married we decided to move back to the East Coast to be closer to our families. We like it over here a lot. Plus, you can't beat having built in, willing, and free babysitters all around! This is our first baby so our families are totally thrilled and anxiously waiting, as are we.
Congratulations on your upcoming move and hubby's military exit. I'm so relieved that my husband is done now too! I'm sure you will love the warm beach weather (practically year round). We like the east coast beaches so much better than Tampa beaches. It will be really nice to meet some other families to socialize with. We should definitely keep in touch!
I'll be nine weeks on Thursday and that's also my next doctor visit. So far, so good. I'm just very tired and I have to keep food in my stomach at all times to keep from being queasy. We can't wait to meet our little miracle! Hope to talk some more soon.
Jessica
Hi Jessica!!
Hang in there....the first 12 weeks is the worst!! I remember as soon as I got into the second trimester, I felt soooo much better.
I cant wait to be back in Florida. My family is in Melbourne and my husbands family is in Tampa so it will be great to be near everyone again...and a total bonus for free babysitters Living up here has been difficult since my hubby was in the military and I am in grad school (I graduate next week...yay!!) . But it will definately be nice to meet other moms in the area when we get down there. Im one of the first out of my friends to have a baby so its difficult for them to understand certain things.
So do you and the hubby have a preference on the babys sex? For months my hubby was cheering on for a boy when I was pregnant but now that we have a girl, his opinion has changed and he wants more girls....crazy how that works
Well hope things are goin well for ya. Sorry it took me a while to write back...i was trying to survive finals week.
Take care!! ~Nicole
Hey Nicole,
Congratulations on graduating from grad school! Go you! What are you getting your degree in? I hope you had a nice celebration. Oh, and Happy Mother's Day!
It is hard finding people that are at the same life stage. Most of our friends either have their kids already or don't have any yet. It would be great to meet other new Moms and Dads! When are you guys headed this way? We'll definitely have to get together.
We really don't have any preference on the sex at all. We truly are just wishing for a healthy, happy baby! We've decided not to find out until delivery either. I think that it's more exciting to be surprised. I want to hear my husband shout out whether it's a boy or a girl. It has to be some extra incentive for the pushing too!
I'm 11 weeks today. I'm doing pretty well. I'm still exhausted, but other than that not too shabby. My next doctor's appointment is on the 27th. We're gettting excited about that one because they promised we'd get to hear the heart beat with the doppler. We're really looking forward to that! How are you doing? I hope you're ready for a break now that school is done. Keep me posted.
Talk to you soon,
Jessica
Happy Mothers Day to you as well Well tomorrow is graduation day (finally!!!). Im getting my masters in public health. The plan is for us to move back to florida (probably in the melbourne/viera area) at the end of august or beginning of september if all is still on track with the hubby transfering his job to florida- he is a civilian contracter working for the navy and his job opened a office in orlando so he would probably commute there. Also im looking at different job positions at hospitals in the melbourne area (my dads a doctor so he's able to give me a heads up on any job openings). Ideally I would like to do something part-time for now since the baby is still so little but my mom offered to watch her if I decide to work. Gotta love having the free babysitters Other than that everything up here is great....just really want to be back home.
Thats really exciting that you guys decided to wait til the baby is born to find out the sex. I was too impatient and had to find out....it took forever because she crossed her legs when they did the ultrasound and I told them I wasnt leaving til I knew Atleast she was being lady like haha..
We'll definately have to meet up when we get down there. Keep me updated with the next doctors appointment. Hearing the babys heartbeat for the first time is an amazing thing!! And hopefully they'll give you a cute little picture. My doctor was awesome and throughout my pregnancy he gave me about 40 ultrasound pictures of my little munchkin
Hope you start feeling better! Take care hun!
Nicole
Congratulations again on your graduation! You and your family must just be thrilled. Hey, as far as jobs go they also just finished the new Parrish Medical Center. They may be hiring for some positions still, but I'm not sure. It's in Port St. John. They're always still building and putting things in out in Viera too. That area is growing pretty quickly.
You guys will be getting here when I'm getting pretty huge. Lol! We'll have to meet somewhere with some serious air conditioning! I got an ultrasound at 7 weeks, and I know they said they do another at 20 weeks. Unless something comes up, that's all I get. We have the picture of our little bean from the first one hanging on the fridge. The next one will be even more exciting because there will be an actual baby with real anatomy moving around in there. I just have to remind them not to tell us the sex. Other than that they just do a check of the basics: weight, blood pressure, size of the uterus, heart rate, etc. Sometimes I wish I had a little window on my tummy so I could see what was going on in there! It's hard to be patient!
Well, I hope you enjoy your celebrations for the graduation. I'm sure that everything will work out for you guys with the transferring down here. Keep me posted please. By the way, here's my email address too: [email protected]. Email me anytime. Talk to you soon.
Jessica
I actually just sent out my resume to Parrish Medical Center and also keeping my eye out for the new hospital in Viera but I dont think that will be done til next year.
Yea it will definatly be great to get together and Im sure you will look beautiful!! Atleast you're having your baby in the winter......I had my daughter in July and I thought I was gonna melt!! That was miserable haha....next time I will plan for a winter baby
The 20 week picture is sooo awesome because you see all kinds of details. The baby doesnt look like an alien duck haha (thats what my first ultrasound looked like lol). I'll keep ya posted on the "Get back to Florida Plan". Also do you happen to have a facebook account...its so much easier to keep in touch with everyone. Have a wonderful evening!!
Nicole
Hi Nicole,
I do have a facebook account. I'm listed as Jessica Grauert Croft in the Orlando network. What is yours? Definitely add me as a friend, and vice versa. I'm on there almost every day. It is a great way to stay in touch! I'll also add your email to my contact list. I'm so glad that we've stumbled across each other. It will be great to have another Mommy close by!
We had NO rain for like two months, but now it's been raining EVERY day! It started raining yesterday afternoon, and I don't think it has stopped yet. We really need it because everything is so dry, but I'm ready to see a little sunshine again. It looks like summer is starting early here this year.
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you on the job hunt. It's been rough on a lot of people with this economy. I'm sure that things will turn around, but let's hope that it's sooner rather than later! I'm sure we'll talk soon. I hope to catch up with you on Facebook too!
