s/o our mothers...

I swear if my mom puts up ONE more status update on Facebook or MySpace about how she is

"In baby Limbo"

Or "waiting on a baby"

I'm going to choke her!

Vent over.

I really, really do love my mom and she's my best friend... *I* am the one waiting on baby and in limbo- NOT her!!!

  • I'm thinking I'd rather hear that than absolutely nothing like I'm hearing from my mom.

  • I'm just in awe that your mom has a FB/Myspace page.  My mom still thinks when you shut down the computer all the information is gone and is still amazed at quick email is.
  • LOL... My mom is addicted to the internet. She spent nearly 24 hours a day what she termed "researching" stuff for my shower.

She's a hip mama... and she's gonna be a hip granny too!

Yeah, me too. I have to constantly remind myself how exciting this is for my parents (first grandchild for people who really want grandchildren), but I definitely feel like sometimes they loose touch with who exactly is actually pregnant and having a baby.

Have you told her to just stop doing it?

  • Yeah, my mom gets confused about who's actually carrying the child.  And she's full of "helpful" advice (which she literally calls "sharing her life experiences") about things I should do in my pregnancy.  (That just happen to be exactly what she did in her pregnancy.)

I, and other posters here, need to remember these feelings of annoyance and stolen limelight and not repeat it when it comes time for our daughters to have babies.

  • I'm impressed that your mom has FB and MySpace... my mom does use e-mail and will even shop online, but I can't imagine her figuring out how to setup a MySpace or FB profile!
