So my real motive for the?poll below?was to see how many people are actually on this board. Sometimes posts have hundreds of views, but very few responses, which made me very curious.??I'm really excited by the potential of this board. I hope more people come out from lurking and share?their?experiences and questions. You're not alone! Here are the results, based on my last check of the #s:? 155 people answered the poll.27 people are actively pursuing adoption.46 people are gathering information on adoption.10 people are adoptive parents.6 people have been adopted.4 people are birthmoms.9 people are getting information to support someone involved in adoption.20 people are interested in the Foster to Adopt process.0 people are Foster parents (exclusively).18 people are a combination of two or more of the above categories.15 people answered "other".
I'm a lurker and answered "other". I have an older brother adopted when he was 2 from foster care and 2 older sisters adopted when they were babies and 2 younger sisters adopted from foster care when they were tweens (all AA). My husband and I plan to adopt in the next few years, we would like to adopt through the foster system and also I would really like to adopt a special needs boy from china (but I have no idea how we would afford that).
I love reading about other people's experiences while I'm waiting for my turn. Feel free to ask any questions about what it's like growing up in a multi-racial family w/adopted and bio sibs.
Re: The results of the Clicky Poll!
I'm really glad you did this. It's always nice to see some sort of synopsis of a board I frequent.
Very cool.
