Baby Names

Decided

I just decided on my names, I was trying to figure out something pretty for a girl with chris in it after my dad so,

Alena Christel Grace

Nolan William Anthony

I am unsure on Nolan, I am not in love with that one, but mns are family and a must. Alena pronounced like Aleena or Alina.

What do you think?

Re: Decided

  • I like them both - I actually really like Nolan. But do you think Alena will be mispronounced alot? May not be a big issue, but until I read your pronunciation, I said A-lay-na.

Also, just out of curiousity, but why would you want something with Chris in it for a girl name and not a boy name?

I was wondering about that too?

  • I think I've seen "Elena" be pronounced "ah-LEY-nah" but I had a friend in middle school named Alena who pronounced it "ah-LEE-nah" so that's what _I_ read when I saw it.  ^_^

I'm not sure about the spelling of "Christel," cuz it is totally unfamiliar to me.  (I'm a huge fan of spelling things in old-school ways.)  I would spell it Crystal.  Or maybe choose Christa.  OOH!  Or (I just found this on BabyNamesWorld) Chrisanna!  (It's greek for "marigold!")

  • I like the boy name, but not the girl name. If I just saw "Alena," I wouldn't know how to pronounce it and the spelling "Christel" looks really weird.
  • Girl name is NMS, and Christel is AWFUL. Sorry. Boy name is pretty good.

Alena is pretty, but will be mispronounced all the time. I pronounce it ah-leen-ah. I don't like Nolan.
