If you sing to your baby. . .

what kinds of songs do you sing? Or what kind of music do you play for him or her?

I'm not a huge fan of lullabyes, so typically I sing the baby songs that have some kind of message for the baby--even though they clearly can't understand a word I'm saying. Ie, Blessed by Elton John or Bridge Over Troubled Waters or the There Can be Miracles song from the Prince of Egypt soundtrack.

If I sang to my baby he would probably try to run away from home as soon as he could crawl
I do listen to music a lot though so I hope he will grow up enjoying all kinds of music.

I guess I don't purposely sing to my baby, but I'm always singing...in the car with the radio, at work to the radio...hmmmmm...

my poor baby hears me wail out on my commute (hey it's 40 miles-  i need to kill time).

mostly it is popular music (taylor swift, jason mraz, anything i know the words to LOL)

I don't really sing to the new baby yet, but I've been singing to my 6 y/o DD since she was born and these are some of our favorite songs:

Blackbird; I Will by the Beatles

Down By The River by Allison Krauss 

In My Daughter's Eyes by Martina McBride

You're Still The One by Shania Twain

Godspeed by the Dixie Chicks

Holding You by Gretchen Wilson

I know there are a ton more, but these are the ones that come to mind right now.  I love to sing and now DD does too, I think it's really important for music to be introduced at an early age.  I plan on doing the same thing with this LO too.

I have been singing made up songs to my dog for years so I assume this will continue with the LO. ?

anything on the adelle cd, gospel, songs i write, sade, lauryn hill....faith evans.. john legend... jill scott.... you prolly get the picture...neo'soul... while DH plays Cold Play and Linkin Park for her...hahaha
