Milk drop-off

I probably just need some moral support here, but if you have any other suggestions, please share!

My supply nose-dived since I got the flu (from my son) -- I'm talking from about 35 ounces per day (bagging 20 oz) to less than 15. When I was sick (and I'm still recovering), I hardly ate or drank anything and barely pumped because I was barely able to move. My son is a little piggy and will eat anywhere from 20-26 ounces at daycare. I'm trying to get back to where I was ... am eating oatmeal, drinking my usual 64+ ounces of water, taking Mother's Milk Plus three times a day ... What else can I do? I really, really wanted to make it to six months and then see how things were going before deciding about cutting back on BFing -- and I'm just a few weeks short of that goal. TIA

Re: Milk drop-off

  • That happened to me. Keep up the pumping and what you are doing and your supply will come back up. It always took about 3-5 days for mine to come back from a sickness like that, but it always did. Maybe add in an extra pumping a day until it comes back up. Don't give up, you can do it!!! I made it to a year (then continued to bf at night until 15 months)!
