doesn't let you go past 39 weeks. I haven't ever heard of this and I just found out today at my appt. I asked her how far past 40 weeks she will let a patient go and she said she won't She doesn't like ppl to go past 39weeks. She basically said what's the point in it. Does your Dr do this also and I am like the last one to know about it or does it seem kinda not right to anyone else?

Re: So, my Doctor...
My doctor is kind of similar in that she doesn't like patients to go full term if this is their first birth and if they seem to be having a large baby. She just said it makes it harder to have a vaginal delivery your first time the bigger the baby is.?
She will let you go a week over your due date before inducing if you want to though. She does leave you a choice.?
Kinda sounds like your doctor doesn't like to be inconveniance with people going into labor on their own. If he/she induces them, she/he can plan it around his/her schedule....IMO
Yes, I did. And her answer was if you end up having a c-section then you probably would of needed one regardless and that she prepares you well for induction by stretching your cervix and stripping your membranes.
I would definitely throw a fit to not be induced if you don't want to. I'm actually being induced at 39 weeks myself . . . but my baby's big enough that they are worried about trauma. (DD broke her collar bone during delivery because she was so big.)
ANyway, it's still my choice and he'd never insist that I be induced. Besides that, I'm already dialating nicely and probably won't make it that far anyway. So, setting an induction wan't a big ussue for me. But if her reason is that she just doesn't like to . . . .or she'd better be ready when I come ungluded!!!
Sorry, feeling "strongly" about things today.
Best of luck - and I'm sure you'll be fine whatever your choice.
