They are diagnosing me with GD and I barely failed! Fasting draw was 91 (should be under 105), 1 hr was 194 (should be under 190), 2hr draw was 161 (should be under 165) and the 3 hr was 145 and the cut off is 145. So frustrating!! I know it's not the end of the world but ahhhhhhhhhhh!!
Re: Ahhhh. Failed 3 hr Glucose by so very little!
I failed the 3 hour by 1 point! It's overwhelming at first. I do admit I cried for a while at first, but after meeting with my dietician and my specialist yesterday, It's much easier than I imagined. I am actually taking my blood as we speak.
GL - Do some research, there are some great posts on the high risk boards I learned from.
I barely failed, as well. Apparently, your insulin resistance will increase a bit as you get further along (as the placenta grows and produces more hormones), so it's actually good that they caught it. It's better to be safe than sorry when the health of your baby is on the line.
The diet isn't terrible. I've been so successful at keeping my numbers under control through the diet that my doctor is letting me decrease the number of days I have to test now. So, if you're are "barely" GD, then the same thing may happen for you.
Good luck, there's a lot of great info on the high risk board, as well.
I just took my 3 hr. this morning, and I pray that I passed. However, I guess if I don't then it is for the health of the baby. I'm hoping the diet won't be too hard to follow...I love sweats!
Good luck to you!
