Does anyone know if the fed fmla supercedes the state fmla?  I know CT gives you 16 weeks every 2 years but the fed law gives you 12 weeks every 12 months.  If anyone can help i'd appreciate it!

You can, in fact, be eligible for both the state and fed FMLA, but they run concurrently, so if you qualify for the state's version (which is better), that's what you'll get.

it also depends on how big your employer is... i work for a company with under 50 employees so we are not covered at all by FMLA
