Pumping was never in my plans but BF did not work. I am now to the point where i dont want to do this anymore. My nipples hurt, not bad but not great either. I have seen a LC and i an using the right size cup. My big issue is that i pump around the clock, but only get enough to give him two bottles a day which i know is great, but still only two bottles. I think that if i was able to give him EBM things might be different.?
anyways.. tips to dry up.
Thanks?
Re: Ending pumping, best way to do it?
I stopped mostly cold turkey, but I was almost 10 month pp. At 6 weeks, my breasts would have literally exploded- they almost did anyway!
I would skip every other pumping session, and only pump a little bit at each one, enough to keep from getting engorged. I believe Sudafed helped me dry up a little quicker, as did using an Ace bandage to bind, which also really helped the pain.
Looking back over your post, I see that you weren't pumping as much milk as I was, so maybe you can just stop cold turkey too. My nipples hurt then entire time I EP'd, no matter how much olive oil I used, or which size nipple shield. A pump is just not a baby, kwim?
Good luck!
?
Thanks, for your input. Right now I am going longer between pumps and lessing the time I put from 20min to 10min. Wow, 10 months EPing, great job.?
I have put olive oil and the Lanilon or what ever it is called and like you nothing helped with the nipple pain and yes a pump is nothing like a baby. When I was BF he did not hurt its just to bad BF did not work for us. ?
