Is Yo Gabba Gabba toddler crack?

If so, I think I am in.

  • I've never even heard of this-is it a TV show?
  • Loading the player...
  • I believe so. slw and a few others have posted about it.

We haven't really let Cadence watch TV but I would like something in my back pocket to help with the fussy times here and there which usually occur when I am getting dinner ready etc :)

  • It's definitely wack.  Tess will watch it though.  I DVR'd 2 episodes and she will watch either one of them.  The one with Jack Black is so bizzare to me though.

Have you tried any of the Baby Einstein or Classical Baby dvd's?  I like those the best.

  • The answer is YES. And Tracigator will back me up on it. Lil' G loves this show (as do I - the Hipster Factor is tres chic). 4:30 on Noggin. This is prime gettin-dinner-ready time for me and it's a nice 30-minute respite.

Pinky Dinky and Little Bear make me want to gag. Yo Gabba Gabba is brilliantly done for little folks.

  • Like Myrall said, definite toddler crack in my house!!!!  I don't let him watch a lot of tv (as he sits watching sesame street at the moment) but one day, we turned on Yo Gabba Gabba and he was enthralled.  Totally weird show if you sit back and watch but he absolutely loves it.  Plus I like that it has "lessons of the day" like greetings or be nice to your friends or differences.  I think some of the writers or the creators of it worked on the show Pee Wee's Playhouse back in the day (I'm aging myself) which explains the weirdness to me completely!  LOL.
  • Ah, gotcha.  We don't do TV for Colin and if it's even on, he loves to push the buttons and turn it off.  I'm hoping this will end before the baby, as I would love a few free minutes to cook dinner, etc.
  • Yes, it definitely is in our house.  We never let Gavin watch too much tv- he never seemed interested anyway.  But one day I stumbled upon this and he was totally enthralled.  We only had 1 episode on On Demand, and it got kind of old, so I tried a couple other tv shows just to see if he had the same reaction.  Not even close.  With every other show he watches the opening song and then goes back to whatever he was doing before.  But w/ Yo Gabba Gabba, he watches the whole thing.  And if we try to turn it off before the show is over, he FREAKS.  Yes, it is totally weird and the Muno character just looks dirty to me.  But honestly, it is a lot less annoying than most kids show (hello Wiggles???) and DH and I have caught ourselves singing some of the songs- lol!  The Jack Black episode is our favorite... I saved it on the DVR and we already have it memorized.  He cracks me up in that orange suit!
