FUUCK

I did our taxes a couple months ago to make sure we had enough in the bank to pay if we owed. Now that I am trying to file, Turbo Tax is changing everything. What we owe the Feds went up 500% and what we were supposed to get back from the state dwindled down to $36. Crying

    I don't understand the taxes this year.  We had a lower AGI since DH dropped some extra curriculars to teach at school and had a MUCH higher itemized deduction due to all the IVF stuff  (plus claiming better on taxes) and yet we owe MORE than we did last year.

    How is that even possible?  I don't understand.  At all.

    huh?  I don't understand how they could change?   Shouldn't whatever the tax laws were for 2008 stay standard no matter when you fill out the crap and file?

    I have no idea how it changed, but I saw there were some updates, so I blame those. The taxes are screwed. And then it told me "congratulations, you qualify for a rebate!" But that was the one I already got last spring. Oh well, it's done, we're paid. On to next year.

    That sucks.

    We still haven't done our taxes. DH is the worst damn procrastinator about them. He scares me silly every year waiting to do them at the last minute. Grrrrr
