2nd Trimester

Chiropractor Complaint (totally whiny vent)

I have popped at least one rib out recently and my hips are all out of whack.  The only thing that is gonna fix this is a trip to the chiropractor.

Did I bother to find a new chiropractor when we moved back in October?  No, I just figured I would find them when I needed them.  Then I got pregnant, and now that I need them I can't find one that will take me without doing Xrays.  ARRGGHHHHH!

So I have to wait to see my chiropractor at home when I go to visit my parents in May.  MAY 15TH to be exact.  This is going to be an incredibly uncomfortable couple of weeks.

Re: Chiropractor Complaint (totally whiny vent)

  • Can you call your normal chiro and explain the sitch to them?  Maybe they'd be willing to call in a referral for you so you don't have to mess with xrays.

  • I found a new chiropractor during the pregnancy, but I went to the chiro that DH has been using.  Ask your friends for recommendations or ask them to ask their chiropractor to take you on as a patient.  Also, ask your OB if she has a chiropractor to recommend.  If that doesn't work, some of the ladies on here have had lots of luck with physical therapists.
  • My chiropractor sent my xrays over to my new chiropractor when I moved (I had to send a letter formally requesting them to be sent).  Maybe they would do that, and you can get in faster once they receive your xrays?  I'd say it's worth a shot!

  • That's weird... are you on medicaid?? I had to go to a new chiro due to moving also and they told me that medicaid requires xrays but because I'm PG they will adjust me anyway without the x-rays. I'm not sure if they are just telling medicaid they did the x-rays or what...
  • I'm so sorry to hear that! I work for a chiropractor and we don't do Xrays. And I can't believe they would turn down someone pregnant. Let me know if you want me to call and yell at them for you! Anyone should be able to just request your xrays from your previous chiro and do a general exam.
