ladies who have had their cervix measured...

what was your number??? i know the average is 3-5cm and my doc says that not many are ever a 5...i also know that anything under 2 is very bad...i was a 3.2 and that worries me a bit...i would rather be more like 4 and up, but it could be worse. I get measured again on Thurs...just wanting to compare with someone else....

Edit: i ask also b/c I had a LEEP procedure about 6 years ago and i know that ups your risk for having an IC...

I am having twins so they are measuring me every two weeks. Last time I went in I was 23 weeks along and at about 4.2cm. I will be going in again on Friday to be measured and checked for?dilation. I just hope that I stay this way for the rest of the pregnancy. Good luck with yours.?

Mine was 3.4, my DR was happy with that so am I. Don't get too worried about it if you are not high risk or havign problems, think if that as your starting point & only worry if it decreases. We have average numbers but just like height & other physical traits we all have different cervical lengths, normal is 3-5, your above 3 so its OK!

My dr said that was "abnormally" high but I have twins so it is even a bigger deal to me.

I have been going in for cervix measurements ever since 14 weeks for preventative reasons from a LEEP....My first measurement was 3.2.  Since then it has been as high as 4.4 and then back into the mid 3's.  I go every two weeks for these measurements.  I didn't realize they could vary so much, but if they  seem to have no reason for concern than you shouldn't either.  My doctor was perfectly happy with the  3.2 measurement that was found at 14 weeks.  GL!

Mine just made 2. Teh u/s tech said that was fine, but I thought that sounded pretty short so I asked my doctor about it and she ordered another u/s to measure which I will have on the 30th.

If your Dr. is ok, i would not worry about it, mine was just under 3 and i have to go back and get it re-checked...  I am supposed to lighten my daily activities adn if it keeps getting shorter they will put me on bed rest....

 The high risk board will have info maybe?

I think you're ok at 3.2.  I've got a transabdominal cerclage and have always measured in the 3's.  Anywhere from 3.3 to 3.7.  I guess they like the stability of the measurements more than anything.

Yep, just like Josie wrote.  I'd say you are good since you are above 3.  I have incompetent cervix.  In my previous pregnancy (loss), my cervix measured 1cm!  Now I have a transabdominal cerclage and am measuring above 5cm regularly!!!  Typically, IC will show up between 16 and 24/26 weeks...so it's good to check.  If you are concerned, I'd ask your doc for another check in 2 weeks.

I think 3 is fine, I had to get my cervix checked b/c my little girls' head is literally pushing on my cervix.  They said mines was a 3.

I was told mine was a 6 and you need to be above 3.
