oh boy I didn't want to get into this or this be my first but....I've been lurking for the past 2 days and while I don't think your intentions were to be racist - that is how your statements came off. 

I have to agree with the one poster in the DD thread.   It wasn't just the fact that you mentioned weaves - it was the on medicaid + weaves +rims + nails + gold bangle jewelry that drew up the classic stereotype ignorant folks have of the black community.   It is an outdated one but well known.  I was waiting for a fried chicken joke.   

btw : Britney's look is a clusterf*ck of a weave + fusion hair extensions.

while i do not feel as if your statements made in a previous post were intended to be racist, i do feel that you seriously offended some. I think the best thing to do is to just realize that you offended some people and leave it at that. Posting an example of your "justification" for your statements is just turning up the heat to the situation.... I say let it blow over or be a little more sensitive to those that you offended. People taking your comments to be racist is far worse that people upset because you flamed them. Posts like this are only making a situation worse.
