Working Moms POLL

1. When are you going back to work / When did you go back to work?  (how many weeks after LO born)?

2. What do you do?

3. Have you changed your length of stay at home (from when you THOUGHT you were going to go back, to when you actually are/did) and why?

I tell myself I'll go back after 2 months, but I am thinking that I'll probably want to stay home much longer with LO. :(

    1.  I took a whole whopping one week off with Kelsey.

    2.  I run my own daycare out of my home.

    3.  I had originally said 2 weeks but changed it to 1 because I already take care of my toddler and she was getting bored out of her mind since I couldn't do much with her.  I figured I could add the rest of the kids to the mix and it worked out great.  HOwever, the first time I took 6 weeks off from my job (I had a regular 9-5 job at the time) and I wouldn't have changed that for the world.

I had planned on taking 8 weeks off and returning part time (2 12-hour shifts per week). In actuality I took 12 weeks off and only work one night per week. Now I'm considering quitting and just staying home - lol!

I went back after 9 weeks.

I am a teacher, so I had Thanksgiving and Christmas break built in to my leave.

I thought the amount of time I had off was pretty nice.  I would ideally be staying home with DS, but I think I got a pretty sweet deal since I only work p/t.

    2.  I'm a TV exec. - that's just the easiest way to explain it.

    3.  Before I had the baby, I was going to try to extend it even longer.  After the first 10 weeks, I couldn't wait to go back.  I was having PP anxiety and just a really hard time BFing.  But once we switched to FF, DD was a new baby - just so much fun.  And then I had to go back to work because I locked in the date and everyone was counting on me returning.  Plus we have a huge show end of May I needed to get into all that.

I went  back 3/23, 11 weeks after birth

    I'm a teacher.

We could only afford me not getting pd for a month and couldn't afford to lose insurance coverage.
