Yesterday doing all the family stuff the boy's nap schedule got all messed up. They were up almost 2 hours past their regular bed time. We would try to put them down and Sam would scream uncontrolably. It was horrible. He got up again aroun 1 and finally went down around 2 only to wake up at 3 again. At 3 I just let him cry b/c I was just getting so frustrated.
This morning when they wake up he starts agin. I've been giving him tylenol thinking maybe its teeth but the screaming didn't stop. I couldn't hold him b/c he would just fight it and scream in my ear so I had to put him down to cry. At one point he started kicking and screaming so bad he bit his lip and it was bleeding everywhere.
I gave both boys a bottle and put them to bed and they've been sleeping for 2 hours and hopefully he wakes up in a better mood.
I'm just nervous b/c the boys and I have to go out to get Max's blood drawn (his iron is low again) and I just don't know how Sam is going to behave. I guess I'll just wait and see what happens when he wakes up.
SO.... how do you ladies deal with the tantrums?
Re: tantrum from HELL
Mine are a full year younger than yours so it's obviously not the same, but I just wanted to say our boys got messed up this weekend, too, by having the ILs here for Easter and their sleeping has been TOTALLY messed up. They've been throwing "baby tantrums," waking 20 minutes into naps, waking 2 or 3 times at night instead of once, etc. We tried to limit how thrown off they'd get but I think the overstimulation of even just having so many people around, and going to several new places, did them in.
Hope yours are in a better mood when they wake up! (((hugs)))
It's hard... sometimes they get a TO when they have a fit, some times their toys are taken away. It's a difficult stage when they are angry about something but can't tell you what it is.
