DS has chapped/almost a little blister on his upper lip??

We are EBFing and DS is almost 3 wks old. ?He is definitely not dehydrated, pees almost clear 10 or so times a day. ?Is gaining weight great. ?So I'm guessing it's just from so much time breastfeeding. ?Anyone else have this happen? ?What did you put on LO's lips, petroleum jelly? ?He doesn't seem to be bothered by it at all but both lips are a little chapped, and the upper lip has a spot that looks like a little blister right in the middle.

yep, it's a milk blister. ?totally normal. ?you can put vaseline on it... but it will go away on it's own. ?it's just from sucking. ?and it will probably reappear a few more times.

Leave it alone - it is just a nursing blister. It will go away and reappear over and over.

DS had this when he was that age. We didn't put anything on it. The piece of skin right in the middle blistered and fell off a few times, but we didn't pull it off for fear of pulling too much skin off his lips. I think it stopped happening around 5-7 weeks. He is 11 weeks now and I haven't seen it for a while.

Totally normal.  Kiddo had one off and on for about the first month or two.  It would fall off and then reappear.  He never seemed bothered by it at all and we never put anything on it.
