 Some might be no brainers, but I never knew about the risk of re-using a mattress.  I have a 2 year old that is passing her crib down to the new baby and I assumed that I would re-use the mattress.  It seems that the reasons they state are another point that supports the breathable bumpers- whic h Idid use for my DD.
