Ok I never do this but...(vent)

My FIL drove me nuts this weekend! It has now been 2 weekends in a row. Last weekend we went to visit family on the other coast and he had to sit in the back (b/c I get car sick). It was a 2 1/2 hour drive so its not like we were in the car for days. He complained the whole time his back was hurting, he couldnt hear us talking from ALL the way in the back seat (which is 2 ft from the front seat). Nobody ever makes him sit in the back, God forbid we make him uncomfortable. I have a Honda Pilot so my car is VERY roomy. My MIL on the other hand is a very quiet women, old fashioned catholic. She waits on her hsuband hand and foot. I mean when we are eating dinner he actually clears this throat to tell her he needs more water and she scurries to the kitchen to get it for him. DH made a comment this weekend (something along the lines of) "my mom does it for my dad" oh boy I did not like that. My response" I am NOTHING like your mother and I warned you I would never be before we got married" he was in shock. I do everything around the house and I don't care. I cook, I clean, I do all the laundry, and that comment really pised me off. I was mostly annoyed all weekend and still very aggravated today. Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter weekend

Your FIL sounds a bit like mine except mine would have not said a word and then blew up when someone said hello to him. Everything bothers him. Glad you stuck up for yourself though.

i hear you! ?my dad totally refuses to sit in the back seat of the car... but also is a terrible driver. ?so even though i get carsick, when we go places, DH drives and i get to sit in the back. ?it's easier to deal with the nausea than listen to dad complain the entire trip!

as for the water, etc., story... wow. ?good for you for standing up about it!?

I always make my ILs sit in the back seat...on a flip side my step mom always wants to drive and you would get car sick in her back seat even if you never have before. My husband and I choose to drive seperate everytime we go out of town...its just an hour away, but this is what we have to do.

No kidding! I'm sorry your FIL is such a PITA, though. Seriously. I hope you don't have to drive with him too often.

Ew, I can't believe your DH said that to you! I had to remind MH that I was not his mother the other day when he wanted me to put all his clothes away that HE has left laying all over our room since we moved in like a month ago, lol.
