Formula and Constipation

We started DS on formula about 2 wks ago--he did great the first several days, but has since had a lot of constipation. He hasn't had a bowel movement in about a week, and everytime he has to pass gas he arches his back and starts crying. We started out on enfamil for babies that spit up, and switched to parents choice version of the gentlease--that seems to upset his stomach as far as making him spit up more. My dr. told me to find a formula w/ no iron--but I think everyone makes formula with iron now. Any suggestions?

    We use soy formula and have the same issues.  Dr. said to put 1 teaspoon of dark karo syrup in the bottle once a day.  Worked like a charm.

    How many ounces is that bottle that you put it in? thanks for your help!

    Prune juice worked for us. A 1/2 oz didn't work so pedi suggested an oz a day. Nothing else we tried worked. GL
