DS and I have thrush and I was wondering if the milk I have pumped and stored is safe for him or will it contain the thrush as well? The pedi didn't mention anything about this but it just occurred to me...thanks
I don't know the technical answer to this question, but we had thrush about 4 months ago and I never threw away any milk. I figure if he can BF while I have thrush, he can eat the EBM as well. I just made sure to sterilize EVERYTHING!!?
Freezing does not kill the yeast. ?That said, it is possible that there is little yeast in the milk itself. ?Also, by the time you use it, your LO may be older and less susceptible to yeast. ?I think that happens around 6 months or so.
I had thrush for several months, including infected milk ducts and I pumped and froze my milk. ?DD never got thrush.

I read that freezing it does NOT kill the yeast.... but I don't know how this compares to fresh...
