diarrhea help

Ds has had this since friday. It is getting more constant and close together. He is down one bottle feeding, and isn't even fussing for bottle, but if I offer it, he'll take it, slowly... and make leave 1 or 2 oz's in there. (not like him at all) He has a slight temp. 100.3.

My mom said to give him some pedilyte. Have ya'll ever done that? I'm not sure how much to give him.

He is on antibiotics, but has been on them for over a week now, and while his stools were a little looser, this is definetly different, so I don't think it's the amoxicillin.

Should I call the doctor in the am or just keep him hydrated?

Re: diarrhea help

  • Yuck!! Not fun. If I were you, I'd call the doctor, since there is also a fever. Otherwise I would push the liquids.

  • Keep him hydrated. If the fever goes above 101, then I would call. Otherwise as long as he is making wet diapers, I would let it go until tomorrow morning when the office opens. Hope he is feeling better soon!
  • DD was sick with a bad stomach virus last month. It was terrible.

We went to the Dr. and they said...

     No formula!

Push Pedialyte and fluids as much as possible. After no more diarrhea for 12 hours reintroduce 1/2 formula with the pedialyte.
