Rice Cereal

We just started this a few days ago, but K hates it! Everytime I put it in her mouth, she makes a face and spits it out.  Does anyone have any tips to get her to eat it?

Her pedi also said to hide her PolyViSol w/ Iron drops in her cereal.  I think we can safely say there is no hiding them.  I put a 1/2 dose in her cereal, and she started crying as soon as it was in her mouth.  She hates those drops!

Is she formula or BM fed? Do you mix the cereal with what she is fed with? I think that might make it easier for her to accept.

 I think DS liked the rice cereal at first b/c it had mostly BM in it. Today was the first time I mixed it with water and I was worried that he wouldn't take it.

Did you mix it with formula or BM? I used BM instead of water so he recognized the taste somewhat.

Also, I only mixed 1T of cereal with 4T of BM so it was really liquidy. After he got used to it I'd add another 1T.

And I got the rice cereal with bananas in it because I heard it tasted better... and he seemed to like it.

It took about a week for him to really get the hang of it, and he still has problems sometimes. GL!

I'd try oatmeal - most babies love it! I'd stay away from rice w/ banana's b/c they're both binding foods and can really constipate baby. If lo isn't liking the taste, I'd try mixing it with a bit of apple juice/water combination to make it a bit sweeter.
