Babies: 9 - 12 Months

My 6 month old is throwing up..please help!

She was sleeping on DH face down and all of a sudden woke up projectile throwing up ALOT..we took her in the bathroom and he gave her a shower and then I was holding her in the bathroom probably 20 min later and she started throwing up again, bad.  No fever. she is just fussy right now.  We gave her avocado (which shes had many times) but this time with apples mixed in..that was the only thing different.  Oh and we are visiting my parents in CT for easter..I posted before that she has a bad rash that looks like it spread within the last day, on her legs and arms, we have no idea if that is related to this.   She's fussy. Should we be worried?..I don't know what to do, I'm shaking I am so worried.  Please help!! She is soooo sleepy she fell asleep in the shower..any tips on what we should do for the rest of the night?!

  • Sorry I don't have any advice other than to call the pedi! There should be an on call nurse taking calls.

GL! I hope your LO feels better.

  • I'd take her temp (rectally) and call the pedi pronto.  If you can't reach anyone, I hate to say it, but a trip to your local ER (or children's hospital) may be in order.  Hope she gets better soon!!!
  • I have no idea what it could be - but the combination of vomiting a lot, being super sleepy, and having a unknown rash would make me visit the ER, I think.  I am so sorry you are dealing with this, especially while away from home.  Does your pedi have a 24 hour emergency line that you can call and get their opinion as to whether you should go to the hospital or not?  I am so so sorry.  Can't imagine how scary and upsetting.

I agree! I've taking DS to the doctor probably more than I should have but I say the co-pay is worth the piece of mind I get from seeing dr.

  • I would definitely put a call into your pedi's emergency line to check to see if theres anything you need to watch for tonight.

  • I'd be on my way to the ER right now if I were you. It's always better to be safe than sorry!
