I don't know if it was just a typo or what, but the poll has Ethen -- I prefer Ethan. But I do like it much more than Aidan/Aiden, which is just becoming trendy. Ethan is definitely becoming more popular as well, but it has a less trendy sound do it. IMO.
I have a friend with 2 sons names Aiden and Ethan. Another friend has a DS named Ethan as well. All are under the age of 3. Both of these names are increasingly popular, but if that doesn't bother you then I say either one are perfectly fine names.
Yea it was a typo. I loved Aiden for so long but that is my big fear, that it's just too darn popular. I am having such a hard time with this whole picking a name thing. Every week it's something new and nothing seems to stick. Getting a bit frustrated after all the work looking at baby-naming sites, etc.
I really like them both. I wouldn't make a decision until you see your baby's face. Honestly - sometimes babies just look like one name or the other. Why not have the two choices and decide when he's born?
By the way, I think with his parents your son will be quite handsome! :-)
These were the names of my ring bearer (Ethan) and flower girl (Aidan). They are brother and sister. I used to love Aidan/Aiden, but it is super trendy and now I have a female family member with that name, so that's what I think of. Go with Ethan.
I don't like either of them, so I didn't vote. They are both too popular now imo. I guess if you don't mind your kid being referred to as Aidan M. or Ethan M. (or whatever your last name initial is) for all of their school days, then go ahead and name him that. Good luck!
Wow, there are some very opinionated responses about the "trendiness" of the two names. I genuinely appriciate all the votes and comments about them, it opened my eyes and now I am bringing back one of my first favorites that hubby vetoed early.
Liam... either Liam Alexander Sharif or Liam Scott Sharif
I think it's pretty unique. - btw- Berry25 you are my new best friend for you extra sweet comment.
I prefer Aidan, but Ethan is nice too. Don't let their popularity bother you. I find it funny that some people on this board consider those names too trendy, but yet the same people would probably think otherwise about names like Olivia and Ava (which are just as trendy and overused). Whatever lol. Go with the name you like!
Aiden has been the number one boys name for 2 yrs in a row, so to me it is too popular I don't want my kid to have 3 other kids with the same name in his class.
