What does letdown feel like?

I have these random tingling (uncomfortable, but not painful) feelings in my boobs that last 30 seconds to a minute, but NOT right before/right when I'm feeding DS. It's actually usually an hour and a half or so BEFORE I feed him, and my boobs don't leak or anything when it's going on. Is this letdown?

FWIW, I don't feel anything like this at all when feeding DS--actually, I've never felt anything in particular when feeding him (other than, y'know, DS eating). Can you have letdown throughout the day, or is it only when you're feeding DC?

  • YES! It DOES kind of feel like a charley horse! so glad to hear I'm not alone...
  • Yes it is the let down. I get them about the same time after nursing. I also feel them about 30seconds after DD starts to nurse and sometimes during nursing if she nurses for a long time. I  leak every time so you are lucky that you dont. I hope it stops soon I hate it. How old is your DS? I did not start to feel the let down during feeding until DD was about 5-6weeks old.
  • 5 weeks. I've been feeling it for a week or so now.
