I'm sure this has been discussed on the boards before, but I can't seem to get the search function to work.
Has anyone decided to go with either lamaze or bradley birthing? I'm doing research online, and I want to get your opinions as well. Why did you choose the method you chose?
Thanks!
Re: lamaze vs. bradley birthing
I'm going with "starrynight62" birthing, but I've heard rave reviews of Bradley. Almost everyone I know who did Bradley successfully had a med-free birth. It's really intense (12 classes or something).
I think the "starrynight62" method will incorporate making DH read the Bradley book with me.
I ended up going with Hypnobabies, but I did research Bradley and Lamaze and I read that Bradley is much more thorough and effective. ?Bradley teaches you to control your pain and Lamaze teaches you to distract yourself from the pain. ?I read many more positive birth stories using Bradley than using Lamaze. ?I think once the hard labor begins, Lamaze kinda gets thrown out the door.
You husband also takes a much more active role with Bradley, much like Hypnobabies.
I would google "Bradley vs Lamaze". ?This is how I originally found info and feedback.?
Bradley is considered "Husband coached birthing" and really focuses on managing the pain without medication. I'm taking a Bradley class and it is 12 weeks long, but I've heard great reviews.
No experience with Lamaze though.
