I woke up this morning feeling great, other than the crazy dreams I had of telling our parents that we are pregnant. (we are dong that this weekend),.So, we merrily went to the doggy park with our oh so friendly English bulldog Roxy. She really is friendly, no sarcasm.
So, we went to the dog park and sh was doing the dog smelling of the other dogs. She went to check out another area, and this other dog followed her, grabbed her by the neck and started throwing her around. She's about 45 lbs, so you can imagine the other dog was pretty big too.Thank goodness my hubby was there to get her out of that situation. I've NEVER had a problem at dog parks before. So, dh got our dog out, and this dog that attacked our Roxy, started attacking another two dogs. And the owner? "oh, is your dog ok. She looks fine!:"
Poor roxy was spitting and coughing all over the place. We took her right out of the dog park. I guess no more dog parks solo with my dog. Ugh some owners.
There are signs that say "no aggressive dogs". Yep, if your dog is aggressive, then don't let them in. My dog has NEVER been attacked before. she is very easy going, extremely well trained (i spend a lot of time on this as I feel its very important!)
End vent!!
Re: dogs and dog parks and pregnancy!
My 40 lb Corgi and I got attacked on out front yard by a neightbor's Pit Bull and they had the same attitude. Poor little thing still get shook up outside in the dark. You are right about some pet owners. I'm glad your dog is physically OK and won't have any lingering effects.
My neighbors Pitt jumped the fence (a six foot fence!) a couple of weeks ago and attacked my mom's mini schnauzer who I was dogsitting. It was horrible! I ended up having to tackle the big dog and wrestle the little one away!
Poor little guy is still stressed out when he has to go outside to potty:(
