Why doesn't he want me?

Is this just a phase?  It is breaking my heart.  Maybe it is teething, but he doesn't want for me to hold him, lay down with him or even nurse him.  I have tried everything to get him to sleep and he just cries and pushes me away.  My mother and my husband have both taken him from me and then rocked him to sleep with no problem.  It makes me so sad that I can't soothe him.  Is this a phase?  If not, being a SAHM just became so much harder

My son did the same thing a couple of weeks ago.  He would wake up screaming and wanted nothing to do with me.  Everything I did seemed to make him scream and push me away more.  His dad would take him from me and DS would instantly stop crying   For us, it was teething, and it lasted a couple of days.  Now he's back to cuddling with me, for brief moments, anyway!  Don't know why he wanted Dad, but it made DH happy, so I tried not to let it bother me too much...but I'm still glad it passed   He's crawling now, so he won't want to be held much longer!

I'm sorry you guys are having a rough time right now . I have no clue why he won't let you soothe him, but it definitely sounds like a phase. I've seen you with noah and there is no question he adores you. I was hurt when Asher went through a phase where he refused to eat when I fed him, but he would eat for DH. Also, I saw your post about teething and that N's teeth have already popped through. Asher continued to have signs of teething for several days after his teeth came though, so I'm assuming it still hurt as they were coming in. I hope things get better and you guys start getting more sleep!

I'm sorry, I know firsthand that you are an AWESOME mommy and I'm sure it's just a phase. Sometimes DS wants DH more than me and it hurts my feelings, but then I have to remember that he's a baby and he's not doing it to be mean. Hugs, I know it's sucks!

Could it be that you are with him all the time and he doesn't get to see Daddy as much? I am a SAHM and sometimes my LO just really wants his Dad. I think that he just doesn't get to spend as much time with him and sometimes just craves that attention since I shower him with attention all day. Could it be the same with your little guy?

Thank you for the nice comments.  I was so determined to figure out what was wrong I had DH hold his mouth open to see if there are more teeth and yep there are  4 more coming in. That means he is getting 6 teeth all at once. Teething SUCKS!

 Thanks again girls, I guess I just needed to vent.

I'd bet it's just a phase. I can see why it would break your poor mommy heart ( *hugs*
