It's insane. I sleep as I am told on my left side and my various extremities go numb. I thought sleeping on your back was the problem and numbness can happen - NOT when you are sleeping in the prescribed position. So I flipped to my right side. Then I flipped back. Woke up finally at 6:30am because nothing was comfy and my back literally ached.
This is going to be a very long last Tri if I can't sleep. Does the wedge really help??
Re: Uggh No comfortable sleep position
I haven't been able to get comfortable at all the last two nights. It has been horrible. I woke up at 6 this morning and am aching all over. I am hoping that this is temporary because of my horrible allergies right now.?
I have the Boppy pillow and love it. It has been wonderful. I also have a body pillow and it works well to- however FI steals it 90% of the time. ?
I'm sure thats probably alot of it. I walk alot, and anytime I really feel the sciatic bothering me afterwards, those nights are HORRIBLE for trying to sleep and just wake up stiff and sore. With my first i use to use a pillow under my tummy, a pillow between my legs and 1 pressed up under my back just a little. It helped a bit but all preg. are different. This one I don't care for a pillow behind me at all. Hope things start getting little better for ya
Catherine is absolutely adorable!!! What a terrific smile she has!?
I'm having the same problem, and found I'm most comfortable on my back. My sister gave me her Snoogle, but that thing is huge and takes up half the bed. I haven't figured out the best way to use it yet.
I go to a chiropractor regularly and that has really helped with the back pain and my sciatica.
I noticed my sciatica gets worse if I walk as part of exercise, so instead of walking, I use the elliptical..keep the feet pedals as low as possible, almost like you are gliding. It really helped my sciatica, plus do some stretching afterwards. Definitely see a physical therapist for exercises that will help with strengthening the muscles in your buttocks and hips.
As for sleeping positions, invest in a snoogle. You can create many different positions with it...you can tuck it under your hip when you sleep on your side...you can use it to support one side of your torso when laying on your stomach, I found this position helpful in relieving the numbness in the hips/ buttock regions.
