Sandbox

When can you/did you take DC into a sandbox? ?It's getting nicer here and I thought I'd take DS to the park but there is nothing there for him to do (except swing, which gets old quick) if he can't go in a sandbox and I can't imagine he won't eat the sand since he puts everything else in his mouth. ?I'm curious what others experiences have been. ?TIA for any insight, experience. ?

    You could try the sandbox and see his reaction. If he does try to eat sand, he most likely won't like it and won't do it again! I used to nanny and I would hold the kid/baby and let them move from bar to bar on the monkey bars. That just requires some good arm strength from you!

    not sure what parks you're close to, but we have taken dd to riverside a few times and there are a few smaller babies to play with.  she has a little shovel and pail which keeps her hands occupied :)  if she starts to put her hands to her mouth i just grab them and distract.

    My niece and nephew have been to the beach here on several occasions at your DS's age, and while a bit of sand might make it into his mouth, it's not much :o)

    I would take him and see how he likes it.
