I just realized today that ours sucks balllzz. It seems like there is about an inch of clearance under the blade, which leaves huge chunks of stuff under it. If it can't grind oatmeal properly, I won't hold out hope for anything else!
I haven't tried it yet (just got it for my shower) but someone bought us the Beaba Babycook from WIlliams Sonoma. You can watch the video online, but I am so excited about it. You steam and puree the food in the same machine. You can also buy the trays to freeze in, spoons, and a cookbook. GL!

THIS! i thought it was totally ridiculous at first, but E got it for christmas from my first cousins and turns out to be absolutely brilliant! seriously makes it SO much easier (i honestly didn't think it could get easier). I only make about 2 trays of food at a time and it takes maybe 15 minutes.

Beaba! I also thought it was ridiculous but rec'd as gift and now I definitely recommend! Love that it can steam and puree, and also re-heat food. I've used it with frozen veggies, fruits, fresh, mixing meats in w/ other foods. Also usually make one tray (16ish cubes) at a time mostly due to freezer space. Recently using to make finger food--just steaming veggie chunks.
Re: Recommend your food processor (Babyfood makers)
I have a cuisinart food processor that i like but for dd's food i use my cuisnart stick blender. I can control the thickness better.

I have the cuisinart mini prep. It's so easy. and so small but works great.
www.wholesomebabyfood.com recommends it #1 and also lists a bunch of other ones they love. You should check it out.
Good luck!
This. And I have the cuisinart food proc/blender for the larger jobs. This works great as well.
