Mother's Day Gifts -- for the new grandma

I want to get my mom & MIL something different this year for  Mother's day... and was thinking what better than G'ma related. They're both ecstatic and can't wait, so I was thinking this could be a fun way to celebrate the day... only thing is I'm stumped!

 Anyone have any good ideas?

I'm putting together a really nice gardening kit for my mom, his mom and his step mom. And of course, it will have lots of SEEDS ;o)?

I was thinking of doing the same thing but haven't been able to come up with anything so I'm glad you asked.

I would recommend Mercer Mayer's book "Grandma and Me". It would work well in a little basket. I also like the idea of a little "Grandma's Memories" book where the moms can put some of their family history.

I'd say wait until next year to give her g-ma related gifts, and honor her as just your mother this year... She isnt a grandmother yet, just like you arnt a mother yet.  Just my 2cents.

I have to say that I tend to disagree about not being a mother yet.  You have your baby inside of you and you have to do what is best for the baby to assure their well being and avoid what could harm them....just in a different way then when they are here to hold.

This is a really good question. I'm sure it's gonna be full of varying opinions!! I don't really know what I want to do yet. I totally beieve in my mom and my MIL being grandmothers now. But there is so much that could go wrong between now and my EDD. What if we celebrate now, then something happen and be let down next yr. when there's nothing to celebrate. Call me a Pessimist I need Chocolate

my mom is already referring to herself as grandma... all our parents already picked the names they want and can't wait. I think this would be a nice way to celebrate in a small way for them.
